I've done some googling & forum searches, didn't come up with much.

What all is needed, and has to be modified?

So far on the list to buy is:

-hood
-grill
-wings
-bumper
-bumper cap
-lower valence
-fog lights
-headlights
-L & R fenders

Are my 2000 bumper mounting locations & hood mounts going to work?

What about the headlight mounting area? Do those bolt on?

As far as frame horns, where do they need to be re-welded on?

Anyone that's done this, can you shed some light? pics would be helpful

I wouldn't change your front end IMO. Just get an hd hood from an 01-02 hd and Colormatch what you've got. Maybe get a z71 tahoe valance to switch it up

I already an HD hood. But I want to change it up, 06 looks newer, refresh the truck.

He pretty much has all the stuff he needs listed already. Hood/grill/fenders/bumper/valance. I think you need the headlight panel also that goes behind the grill. You'll need 03+ frame horns and to cut your currents off and weld the new on. Other than that everything will bolt on.

That's the only reason I gave my opinion, it's not a simple swap like going from 03 to 06.

I think your truck would look great with an HD hood and some colormatching

i am also a bigger fan of the 99-02 front end but they are both nice. its a lot of money to spend just to make it look like a newer model

Parts would cost me next to nothing. And trucks getting repainted regardless. Only thing Is all the work involved. :throw:

I think when truck gets repainted, I will CM flares, cladding (leave chrome strip), door handles/tail gate handle surround (chrome pulls), upper bumper cap, grill shell & bowtie. Billet horizontal grill, chrome main grill bar, chrome bumpers, black valence.

Already have clear corners and brand new OEM HD hood & new chrome (clear) headlights waiting to go on.

I have all new front end parts and a hd hood to colormatch my 99 but I think im gonna sell/swap them and switch to an 06 front with ss bumper. I originally wanted a to buy a 03-07 truck but couldn't find what I wanted in my price range.

You can get the 03+ frame horns that bolt on, but I'd go ahead and weld them on anyway. Also, the headlight panel on these trucks are 2 peices, so you woul need left and right.

I'm torn, I love 06's, but CM'd 99-02 with HD hood also looks good! :throw:

06 front end swap is confirmed. Parts starting to be ordered Monday. probably wont be -installed until spring though

Id like to swap a 06-07 Chevy front end onto my GMC. Not ready for that cost though, Im still happy with the GMC front, just prefer the 06-07
