When I go from forward to reverse I have a bad rattle when the engine bobs down a little, that’s the only time I hear it other than sometimes at start up.
2000 Silverado cracked flexplate? Cat rattle?

Take a dead blow hammer (something that absorbs sound) and pound on the cats. If they rattle you'll know the source of the noise. Move back to the muffler, if the baffle has rusted away from the muffler housing it will also rattle when pounded on. Cracked flex plates... to me always sounded more like engine knock more than a rattle.
