About 6 months ago while driving in 2wd, a service 4wd message popped up on the display. Then, I noticed that none of the indicator lights were illuminated indicating which mode of drive I was in. I recently was able to find time to try and find the problem. I replaced the switches in the dash (where it says 2hi, 4hi, etc) but that didn't solve the problem. After more research I found that it could be the actuator in the front diff. I have since then replaced it, with the same problem. I noticed when I first insert the key, the indicator lights flash briefly, but then go out. Any idea as to what I can try next? I am selling the truck, and would really like to have this issue solved. Thanks

the only thing you havent done is replace the encoder motor sensor ,,,,

the message in the DIC means there is a DTC to have diagnosed ,,

you did the old repair by shot gun and it bit ya in the butt ,,,,so dont do that anymore,,,

the money you wasted guessing couldve paid for a scan of the TCCM

I have since replaced the encoder motor, and yup. all fuses are good. I'm taking it to the dealership today to have it checked out. Should have done that in the first place. Oh well.
