I have rears on mine for the same reason. You just need to modify the mounting tabs on the door to make it work. A Dremel or air grinder worked well for me.

What do you mean modify tabs? Any help I appreciate

I've got one on mine ........you will need to transfer the mech from your old to the tahoe rear handle and only 2 of the three bolt holes for the handle line up but the third does catch some of the door skin

It's fairly straight forward you'll understand when you see the handles side by side
