Hello guys well many of you may have seen my previous thread about the duramax that I was purchasing and the good news is i went ahead and bought it!!!!

No pics yet because it is at the shop till Monday getting e-brake fixed.

I have some questions for anyone who is willing to help?

Specs:
-2007 LBZ with allison
-standard cab, 8' bed
-4" Rancho suspension lift
-315/75/16 Yokahoma AT's
-4x4 Automatic

The gas mileage on the dash says average is 14.3.

Do you guys think that I need a tuner to recalibrate the speedo and that might improve the gpms? Or do you think the gas mileage decreased this much do to lift and tires? If so will a tuner with economy tune improve mileage?

What tuner do you recommend?

Is the Edge any good?

Any info welcome...

Thanks again for help...

No matter what you need a tuner. Just keep it on a lower setting so nothing gets hurt.

Look up PPE and EFilive tunes.

Yes the tuner will help with mileage.

Yes you need a tuner to recailbrate your speedo or go to the stealership and pay them to do. Edge is good and I suggest getting this one...http://www.meyerperformance.com/pd-edge-cts.cfm
It's a nice programmer with alot of good built in features and you get gauges. I would also suggest getting a TransGo Jr shift kit installed. I would also sign up on http://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/ aand http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/? and just start reading like crazy. There's alot of helpful guys on those 2 forums and the vendors are helpful also.

I've never used Supechips before but I've read were people actually pick up decent MPG with them. I take it your not looking for anymore horsepower? No you don't have to have the shift kit just for bigger tires but it's a good investment for the transmission.
Here's a link to the shift kit. Look at the first 3 boxes going arcoss and that will explain what the shift kit does. The box is labeled SK Allison-JR. I have one, just have to find the time to get it installed.

I like PPE and Efilive personally. Both got me 18+ but you also have to figure in that with either of those two you can delete the cat, muffler, egr, etc.
