So last winter I started having what sounds like my motor bogs down for a second then fires back right up and once I run it it won't do it again until it sits awhile didn't do it all summer and now with the wether getting cold again it's come back. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what could be down to resolve it.

Sounds like your talking about piston slap that many LS motors have. Its very common and just let it warm up a bit before you take off. My 5.3 would slap when temps got below 40 degrees and I would just let it idle for a bit before i put into gear and took off.
