It sometimes won’t start, but if I mess with the tailgate switch on the dash it will eventually start, anyo else have the same problem? I’ve checked for codes but nothing comes up.

May be just a bad starter and messing with the tailgate switch is just coincidence

Have someone step on the brake pedal while you check the brake lights. It could be the brake relay (to the the back lights). I had that happen years ago. If your brake relay isn’t actuating your brake lights, it’s also not telling the computer that your foot is on the brake (which gives you permission to start the vehicle).
