I have been planning on putting 22's under my bagged 01 ext cab, but I have run across a good deal on some Billet Specialties 20x9.5's. I plan on running these until I get some other things done (like up grade brakes!) before I buy 22's.The backspacing is 6.5", so they'll tuck! My question is, what size tires should I run? I have a friend selling some 275/45/20's with 50-60% tread for $200, but I would have to go ahead and tub the front to get it to lay out. The rear is already tubbed for 22's but the front still has the stock fenders. I was thinking about running a smaller tire that will tuck in front, so that I can finish the rest of my shaving and painting outside and worry about the front latter. I atleast want enough tire that I don't have to worry about bending wheels. What is the largest tire I can fit without tubbing the front? What size tires do all of you recomend? Any info/oppinion is appreciated!

Thanks
Trey

i drive like i did with my 275/45s with my 245/40s... I guess it helps that there aren't too many potholes around here though.

I think if you went 275/45 it would look really funny. the 275/45 is a huge tire. Its got a pertty big bulg, but i thikn u cut out ur fenders, so it shouldn't be close to rubbing.

Personally, i'd throw some low pros on it.

Yeah, 275/45 was the size I was looking at if I went with low pros! Is this tire wide enough for a 9.5" wheel?

Thanks

OOPS! What I meant to say was, are 245/40's wide enough for a 9.5" wheel?

Thanks

lol

no its too narrow. I'm running 245/40 on my 8 inch wide rims up front. Out back on a 10 inch wide tire, i'm running a 295/40, so my guess is that would prbly work...

According to Randy's ring and pinion, a 295/40/20 is 29.2" tall and a 275/45/20 is 29.7" tall. The stock tires are 29.8" tall. The front wont lay with the stock tires and fenders and I'm not sure if the 295/40 will be short enough to lay out. Anybody know of a good online tire calculator that figures width and height. Randy's only has height.

Thanks

if you wanna lay w/stock height and 20x9.5 rims ur gonna hafta use 255/35s....it will lay on 245/40 but ur rims are too wide......255/45 is 29.1" tall and thats too tall to lay w/stock front feders.........to keep front fenders intact go 255/35

I'd say use 275/35/20 as it'll be wide enough for the wheel and still be very close to the same heigth as a 245/40 overall.

I saw 245/40/18's on some 18x9.5's once (on a camaro) and they looked really stretched out and looked bad :imo
