well I'm picking up a 2500 HD this weekend as long as the test drive is ok and a last over look with my mechanic and I passes.

specs: 2003 GMC 2500HD 6.0L 90,000KM (thats like 50,000 miles) white single cab long box. body is in mint condition. the only down fall is it's 2wd! I can't turn it down for the price. I talked them down to $8,000.

I was thinking of lifting it till I found out it's a 2wd. There's not point in llifting it cuz I will only get it stuck. and it's not my style. HOw hard would it be to convert a 2500 to 4wd? I asked this question in the Lounge but didn't get much reply. What other Idea's would I have with it?
here's a few pics:

A solid axle conversion is going to be the best way to convert it to 4x4. It's definitely going to be expensive though. I would never try, or even waste the time and money, to convert it to 4wd IFS. An SAS though would get the job done but you'll be looking in the $8-12K+ for a nice setup.
