I have a local guy selling the stock 20" chrome wheels off of his SS. They have 285/50/20 Goodyear GTIIs on them with no miles. I know these are a hair shorter (and a hair wider) than my factory 265/70/17s...which look pretty small on the truck. I'm thinking these 285s will look funny on the truck, even after I pull the rear blocks and decrank a little; I see some of you 2WD guys running these on 2/4 drops, I'll be alot higher than that. Opinions?

I'm running that size on my 2wd dropped 2.5" in the rear and it doesn't look bad. With a decrank and pulling out the blocks and installing shackles you'll be about the same height I'm at. Here's a pic for reference:

If its a good deal on the wheels get them, swap up the tires to a bigger size and sell the 285/50's on evilBay.

I picked up a used set of 305/55/20's for my wheels off of CL for $275. Which is less than one new tire. I should be able to get two summers out of them, so keep an eye out for deals.
