it is all a matter of opinion as to what is better but usually 3 way speaker are crossed over better for a little better sound quality. But why not go with a set of component speakers with seperate crossovers and tweeters

I think theres alot of 2-ways that sound better IMO
Basically a 2-way is a mid and tweeter (mounted infront of it)
a 3-way is a mid, tweeter, and third tweeter or super tweeter

Screw 3 ways, get some 5 ways...

The normal Listener wont notice a difference between a 3 way setup... A good 2 way setup will be fine...

5-ways sound like crap, something with a decently small tweeter on a 2-way is great

ive taken those apart, there isnt even a wire going to those little tweeters. get a quality set of 2 ways or a cheaper set of comps.
