looking for advice on if I should regear or not. I'm not going to be towing, it's my daily driver with some off roading every once in awhile. I have the 4.8 l with a K&N intake and flowmaster exhaust. the guy at the shop says i'll be fine but after doing a lot of research I'm not sure anymore. i'd rather not regear but i also don't want to be dumping money into my transmission after a couple months of running this setup. thanks in advance for the help

i'm running BFG all terrains that are 32.5" (275/70/17) and they run fine, i've had them for almost 2 years now. just worried about the strain it might put on my tranny
so where do the 35s come in to play?

and IMO, they should never have offered a 4wd truck with anything less than 3.73s from the factory

there's no way in hell that a truck is gonna be happy with 35s and 3.42s unless it has a turbo

The guy at the shop is wrong. I was running 3.42 and 35s for a while and I had the trans go out twice. I regeared to 4.88 and haven't had any problems so far but the 4l60e sucks in general IMO

4.88s. Do it and never look back. Made my truck fun to drive again and I had 3.73s.
