Well they aren't good for them...

Look at it this way, the OEM engineered those components for the stock size tire, wheel, and offset, and even on the stock setup those components will wear out. Adding larger, heavier tires and wheels along with wheels that stick out further will accelerate that wear greatly.

This is one of those times where you must weigh your options if those tires are worth it to you knowing you will be spending more $$ down the road keeping that front end in good shape.

Usually $1000-1500. Add about $400 if you want to replace the ticking time bomb in your rearend with a Tru Trac.

Yeah like others said man, it all depends if you can handle ordering new ball joints, tie rods, the whole 9 every couple years. To be honest though, I'm rolling on 35" BFG's and they actually measure a little small so the wear hasn't been anything crazy...You just need to keep up with it, and always keep an eye on it. I've done balljoints once when the lift was put on in Oct. 2006 and then had to do the passenger side 6 months ago 2010...So 4 years of life...Not bad. Just HAVE to keep an eye on wear because when balljoints fails, that tire and wheel will seperate and go on their own little journey at another car, person, whatever is in it's way.

Gears will set you back a guaranteed $14-1500 if you have a shop install them but they're worth every penny. Must have especially if you actually use your truck and want that "stock power" feel.

They would have to be realllllllllly far gone to do that, although it has happened before for sure. Normally you would experience wobble, irregular tire wear, steering wheel pull etc way before that ever happens.

There are many people that do. Once you go bigger from stock its going to wear faster. So the difference between 35s and 37s may be minimal but look into replacing ball joints, tie rods, and other steering related stuff about every 2 years or so.
When I put my lift and 35s on, I replaced the BJs, about 2 years later they were in need of new ones again. thats my experience. you might want to PM Country Boy. He has a ton of miles on his setup and could shed some light on the topic.

I know. I'm just stressing how important it is to keep an eye on them. Hell I was out working right by my house one day. Got home and my passenger side tire was kicked out at the bottom. I said FFFFUUUUUUU and ordered the balljoint. It's funny because that drive home there were NO indications of it being loose. It took me getting out of the truck and discovering it. Thank god it was a situation where I drove less than a mile to get home instead of hopping on the interstate to go somewhere..(This is the BJ I had to replace after 4 years that I mentioned above)

So, it's not always in your face obvious. Most guys chalk stuff like that up to brake or steering problems and rarely stop to think they're tire and wheel may take a separate ride soon...
