I have a 01 Sierra extended cab. 4x4. With a 4.8l in it. I'm wanting to swap it and put a lq9 6.0 with the 4l80e trans. Anybody ever done it? Any advice? Know how hard it will be? How difficult? Need help!!!

This would be epic pioneering in the world of LS swaps. The +0.7l mod has been done, but the +1.2l swap could bend time into tasty colours.

now if only a company would be crazy enough to make a crossmember and or a harness for the 4l80e to work.....:insane2:

Try searching. It's possible. Hell Google would provide you everything you you need. Plus this swap is all over Google so you did no research. Stop being lazy

Why do people have to post such foolishness in really good tech threads?

Where do you even get 1000? GM only makes 1500, 2500, and 3500, some 4500. 6.0 into a 1500 is like an average so you get a 2000, commonly known as a hebby haff in the south.

Do you even truck bro?

clearly you aren't into the aftermarket scene.... So what you do is a you buy the extra 0 on ebay and swap out the 5.

Real answer: "it's like Lego's."

Disconnect everything you can and lable where it goes. Replace engine. Plug everything back in. Matter of being patient and not forgetting anything.

My advice. Keep the 4.8, 220 cam, valve springs, and when you're done having fun buy a 2500.
