I have a question about my tranny do i have to get the same tranny i have now rebuilt or can i get a used one in there beacause some one told me that i would have to know the vin #s of both trucks for it to be compatible with my truck (lol sounds crazy tho) if i got a used one but i thought as long as its a 4l60e it will work.

As long as it comes from a 99 or newer truck, it will work.

Yeah 99+ out of a nbs. Just reuse your neutral safety switch.
