I've been driving my truck and every once in a while after it gets up to temp on a hot day it will start shifting really hard(like a freaking hammer from 1st-2nd) and I was wondering if it might be a solenoid because I can cut the truck off and right back on and it goes away with no cool down time, like literally pull over cut it off and back on and keep driving and the problem goes away. Would this be he cause? And the truck has around 144,500 miles or so. Would it be a decent place to start changing before digging further in the transmission since this can be "easily done" on a lift

YES! I had this issue on my 2002. Had the solenoid fixed and the problem went away for a while. 15k miles later the trans dropped out from me going down the highway at 70mph. Ended up throwing in a new 4L60E
