So it grinds as it shift or grinds in OD after it shifts? Have you checked the fluid for particulates? It would seem a torque converter problem would manifest all the time and not just in OD.
Exactly, From what you are saying, it is not a converter issue. As big green also said, a converter problem will be almost all of the time in every gear.
I think you guys are right.. It is not the converter. I am going to pull the trans tomorrow and take it into a shop and have them check it out. I will post back the findings.
little off topic but how hot is the torque converter supposed to get? i pulled my t/c covershield off my 80e about an hour and a half after driving and it was pretty hot.
ok, burnt my fingertips a little so it was probly about that...
