Iv been having a 4l80e laying around for some time and im finally getting around to ordering a converter for it and trans-go, as my 4l60e is start to get a little bitchy. I have 2001 ext. cab and my 4l80e is out of a 2000 (obs). I cant find a definite answer any where. Do you have to shorten the drive shaft for the 4l80e if you have a factory 2 piece drive shaft or not?
Also hows first gear? is it bad enough to re-gear?
the rear will need to be shortened just a tad " one peice", i had mine sent off and recut and balanced no issues. as with the frount im going to get a 2500 HD drive shaft should work, alot of guys do this.
