what kind of gas mileage does a 5.3 2wd 5 speed truck get

I get VERY good MPG I think for a 5.3 around 22MPG. I have a K&N filter, no bottom on the bottom of the box, TB Spacer, Flowmaster 70 series, and a Corvette Servo. I doubt any of that really helps though.

I have 4x4 5,3 and get about 16-17 in mixed driving conditions. My dad gets like 20-21 in my truck! :crazy:

I get about 15.5-16.5 avg with mostly city driving and right around 20mpg only freeway. This is in a 5300lbs+ ECSB Z71, 33" tires, big stereo, and a SnugTop.

I've got a 5.3 auto and I get 19-20 with K&n fipk, 10 series flowmasters, no maf screen

i get like 12mpg in my K5 blazer.

I get 12-13 in my 5.3 with alot of extra weight, 35" tires on 9" of lift, 3.73 gears, descreened MAFS, nelson tune, dumped flowmaster wannabe, UPD and K&N intake.

i just noticed you said 5.3 5 speed...i don't think those exist. You can only get the 5 speed with the 4.3 v6 or the 4.8 v8 :read:

I usually get around 16 mpg highway/city combined. About to put K&N drop filter and Dynomax Ulta Flow SS. We'll see what the does if anything. Looking more for the horses and torque though.

umm, about 12-13 in town (driver not the truck), and about 21-22 on the highway at 70 or 75.

I got 18.7 round trip about 350 miles with the cruise set on 70. Best I ever got. In town and around I would get 16.5 or so, that was stock. Im in the 12-13-14 range now just depends on how i drive.

I get 12-13...even when i drive conservative i tend to get around there...don't know why but oh well
BTW...that is when i still had stock gearing

THough I have the 4.8L I have been tracking my gas milage in a excel spread sheet for almost a year now and it averages out at 14.6mpg

actually i have a friend who has a 5.3 reg cab w/ manual tranny...

Man, some of you guys get good gas mileage. I get about 16-16.5 city and highway combined.
