Hey guys, my uncle has a 03 silverado extended cab work truck with a 5.3 4spd, 3.73 gears. Well the other day he was doing a nice burnout and the neighbor comes out and says to me "My truck can beat that piece of shit chevy any day" I just laughed at him. So my uncle parks, gets out of his truck and asks him if he wants to race, loser pays $300. So my neighbor says "sure, I could use those extra 300 bucks" So they talked and agreed on racing this saturday on a backroad. So who do you guys think is going to win? My uncles truck runs way stronger than mine for some reason. It just pulls so much stronger and harder. I think he has some sort of factory freak, or maybe its because its a work truck, wich is probaly lighter :think: . So do you guys think my uncle stands a chance?

does the guy with the hemi have a 4 door? are they running long distance? are they running the 1/4...

my friends 4 door hemi on 22s/program/cold air intake/cat-back exhaust.
my 01 ext cab 5.3L/16" mud tires/open exhaust/program/cold air intake/bad mass air flow sensor...

he had me by 4 inches....but that was 120+

but the 1/4 i had him.

Yeah, Its a 4 door with stock 20s. Its going to be a pretty long stretch of road.

im bone stock though...im about to have some goodies :evil: nothing major....headers/cam/e-fans are on the way/gears/posi/built 4L60E/custom tune/THEN maybe a 125 shot of juice.

Guess your right, I dont think he wants to run juice just to beat him though. hes saving up for a radix :evil:

Take out any extra weight like the spare tire and shit to loose some pounds and then for traction, launch in 4 wheel

Its a 2wd. Sooooooooooo.......anybody have pretty good idea on whos going win???????? This is killing me, I cant wait till this weekend. I want to see that hemi go down! :guns:

my buddy had a stock hemi crew cab and according to the g-force meter it ran just a hair under 16 in the 1/4, my regular cab with the 4.8 ran a 15.8, so I would say that your uncle has a pretty good chance, especially if the race is kept under a 1/4. Don't launch in 4 wheel drive, just stage it at around 1300 rpms. He shouldnt have a problem getting traction if it dry.

Yeah, its 2wd as well. I think its the "sport Package" wich comes with the 20s. Does anybody know what gears those have?
