anyone know if it was possible to get the 6.0L v8 in a 2002 silverado extended cab short or long bed?

Theres a truck in town 1 owner, original paperwork etc 41k miles fully loaded LT trim z71 4x4 with a 6.0L in it...

Its the first time ive heard of a 6.0 in a 1500 unless a dealership did it ?

That would have to be a motor swap truck I believe. The only way to get a 6.0L in a half ton was the SSS as far as I know. See what the casting number is on the heads. If you have tuning software or know someone who does you could also download the tune and take a look at the programmed cylinder volume.

For 99-02 there were no 1/2 ton Chevys with the 6.0. Is it possible that he has a 2500 with Z71 Stickers on it or is it definitely a 1500?

As far as I know, the 6.0L was only available in the half-ton Silverados from 2004 and on with either the VHO or Vortec-Max packages. The Sierras had it in 2001 with the Sierra C3 and the Sierra Denali in '02 and on.

Check the RPOs, if it has LQ4 or LQ9 then it's one exceedingly rare truck. If not, then the guy either put it in himself or doesn't know what he has (or it's a 1500HD or 2500LD with Z71 stickers, but the 8-lugs on both should clue you in right away if that were the case).
