Well, as some of you may know, i decided to candy my tails...the whole thing...lol...so now i have no clear reverse lense or anything. I know a couple people showed interest in how it was done so i guess ill explain after i show a few pics.
thats all the pics i really have right now, but it should give u an idea on what the look like. What i did was buy 2 cans of the 3 oz. testors candy apple red spray paint, some clear coat, and made sure i had plenty of gritty sand paper and some smoother stuff. Started off by sanding off all the letters (LH, RH, DOT approved bs) and then theres a lil line on the reflector on the side that i smoothed down...then came the fun part. Stock 73-87 tails have some nice sized ridges on the reverse lense...it took me over an hr per lense, using 100 grit, to get these bitches smooth. i had a friend help me out one night for a lil bit, and it really sucked...lol...but it takes a total of about 3 hrs of sanding to get the lights totally smooth. I then just sprayed about 6 layers of candy paint, did 4 and let it dry, then did 2 then 2 coats of clear, let those dry for a while, then did a couple more clear coat layers...i plan on splicing a wire into my back up lights under my bumper to make it a lil more legal...what do yall think about the lights??
