Hey guys, just picked up an 89' Chevy suburban 4x4 with no motor or trans, 3.73 gears, I am going to drop a carborated TBI 350 in it, have any of y'all built one of these before, is their some way I can rig up a lift without buying one, note this truck has no title so it will be strictly a woods truck. Y'all got any ideas on any mods or any tips on the lift or trans etc. Haven't ever built a suburban before so this one will be my first. BTW it has no wiring harness in it so how would I go about getting it wired up for the motor to run on carb, I hope to hear some good information on this build, I'm stoked!!!!!

Not really how it is but seems like everything you want to do or your ideas are about as hack as possible. Oh and some actually have an education and cannot figure out what you are asking

I heard that replacing the springs with square tubing works well. Just make it so the horizontal run is the same as the horizontal dimensions between the eyelets of the leaf springs. The vertical (lift/up) can be made whatever size you want. I'd recommend at least 30".

One very important note for this is that the width of the square tubing must be the same width as the springs (so the same u-bolts can be reused). Also, your driveline may need to be extended. Just cut it in the middle and use some of the extra tubing from the suspension lift and weld it in the center to the existing driveline to get the length required. Use jigs to center it properly.
