94 dually heads

I want to upgrade my heads on my 94 dually. What head should I step up to that won't mess with my computer or cause other issues. Don't wanna spend the nickles for aluminum. Just a stock set of heads with a three angle valve job. What do ya suggest?

I would do roller rockers.

The peanut port heads you have, and easily be replaced with Oval ports, Oval port manifold, and TBI adapter. It will mess with your computer, and a 3 or 7 angle valve job is not worth the money unless you already need to do the heads.

A good set of rockers can easily get 25hp, and won't mess with the comp.

Sorry is that typed right? It will mess with the computer or it wont? Thanks for the info.
what about gen VI vortech heads?
Let's start with the most important... what's your budget?
less than a grand preferably less than 500. Dont want to spend a bunch.
Sorry about my previous post. Anything you do to the heads to make them flow better usually messes with the comp. The peanut ports you have are not that great even if they are vortec there still more of a SBC head.

Roller rockers are cheap and do not mess with the comp. You'll get 15hp from slightly more lift, and 10 hp from more efficency.
Cool thanks. Great stuff.
$500 isn't much to work with dude. I sure as hell wouldn't shoot most of my wad on roller rockers at this point.

I'd buy an Edelbrock TBI intake manifold, cam, full exhaust, and lastly a chip to match.

Of course this goes with saying making sure the vehicle is in top condition to begin with... plugs, wires, O2 sensor, fuel filter, etc.

Okay thanks. Well part of the restoration of the existing stuff was some head work. So I thought I would start there. after over 100000 miles a headwork is a good idea. I will look into a cam and possibley the rocker arms. go internal then move out. Good advice thanks soo much.
Power is ALL in the heads, I'd hold out until you can swing some good ones.
so know one knows if the VI is a good head? will produce more power?
Vortec heads are good for about 50hp get a TBI to Vortec intake manifold and get a prom burned
Use those TBI heads for wheel chocks.

NO way I'd go thru the hassle and use stock cam and stock manifolds. I think you're going about it all wrong starting with heads. You can have the best heads ever and if you use a crap cam you'll make crap power.
