My 99 Z-71 with a 5.3L just spun 103000 miles on the odometer. Should I be worried? Is it time to trade in? Does anyone here have a 99 with more miles than this?

As long as you take good care of it and keep up on the maintanence you should be fine. More and more people are putting more and more miles on their vehicles these days.

As a side note, my dads friend just passed 888,888 miles on his 1979 GM truck. Its on its second motor. He says he is going to hit a million and drive it straight to GM headquarters to thank them for such a good truck. He wants to be burried in it - no shit.

I wouldn't worry about those few miles...you should be able to get over 250K out of that motor...just keep the oil changed and all the other basic maintenance...

My '99 has 141000 and runs just as good as my dads '02 with 50000. no joke. :bowtie:

100K on these engines isnt that much. if they are taken care of, 100K is just getting broke in. its usually the rest of the truck that starts to show its age.

Before trading it in last November, my '99 had 125,000 on it after 4 years, and it rand just as smooth and probably even faster than it did new! Not to scare ya but my tranny (4 speed auto) started to act up once in awhile so I traded it in to let the dealer worry about it!
