My drivers side hot/cold slider took a dump yesterday and is now stuck permanently on hot. It is the manual version and I am thinking of replacing it with the automatic version. Is this even possible? The price difference is only about $15. 2004 Silverado Ext. Cab Z71

It could be a blend door actuator. My passenger side would blow hot and driver would blow cold.
