I say drain the rad then refill it a few times lol
If you have a NBS, take the upper rad hose and add coolant to it to fill up the rad quicker. Makes it much quicker to fill the system up.
Once the rad is full, fill up that overflow box and ya should be mkay. That's what I did when I changed my thermostat.
