So went to the salvage yard and pulled out the GM option Power Adjustable Pedals;

I got everything I think I"ll need:

Both pedals w/motors
Bracket that bolts to firewall
All wiring UNCUT w/ORANGE BCM plug
Little Icon button that mounts center dash

Im thinking I can unhook my current harness under the defrost vent in the upper dash, replace it with this new harness and plug this directly into the BCM and maybe it will work like that?

The dealer said they didn't know if they could reprogram the BCM is it was needed.

If not I could just bypass all the truck wiring and wire it independent, but how would I go about this?

Go to youtube and search for The Red Green Show. That's pretty much how I do stuff.

Today I modified a toolbox to fit between my rails. It was too wide for my TracRac rails. I cut it then used vise grips and a claw hammer to bend stuff into place, then screwed it together. Tomorrow I'll spraypaint it, silicone around the screws, and be done.

I've also been known to run wires around the firewall instead of through it...

Ya it would probably be simpler/easier to wire into the factory switch, but how would I wire the relays(if needed) and what-not?

Also I was wondering since I have the complete harness if it would be plug-n-play like the DIC/Mirror mods some guys are doing?

Okay, I say nevermind my idea it looks like OEM would be best. I thought you just had a few wires coming out and were going to have to solder them, but you have the whole plug and switch.

Fo sho, its easy to pull the entire harness out of a truck that you can tear up. And it only cost me $50.

But will my BCM accept all this?

Dealer couldn't give me a certain answer, don't wanna fry anything trying.

Only way to find out is do it. I would think a switch like that wouldn't need programming but hey if it does do my first suggestion.
Its not just a switch. . . its a entire new option, I might call some out of state dealers tomorrow and see if they can help.

I'd try plugging everything in without mounting it, and see if it operates. That will tell you with a minimal investment of effort.
And as obvious as that statement sounds, I never thought about that- I was going to mount everything then worry about wiring:drunk:

BCM would probably run me 50-75 if I had to guess, and that truck doesn't have the same options as mine- sunroof, power rear glass, homelink, etc. . .so Im not sure that would work.
