I have a 05 Silverado lowered 5/7 with 245/50/17 and the crossmember drags alot lol has anyone else had this problem? If so what do I need to do. Thanks
Agreed. The easiest thing to do is trim the stock one. If you look closely at the bottom portion of the cross-member itself it is just tacked welded on. Unbolt the cross-member, grind off the tack welds and retain the bottom portion. Then trim the cross-member so its even with your frame rails and then re-tack the bottom portion back onto the cross-member. You will also have to trim the cross-member mounts that are welded to the frame rails. Look up raised silverado transmission cross-member and you will get a better idea of what is involved.
I’d raise the crossmember up regardless, that thing always drags.
Kinda pain to crawl under it and trim the mounts. But you can do the cutting and welding on the crossmember out side the truck.
