AFM/DoD on NNBS

I know all 5.3 engines came with the afm and the 4.8 came without it I'm not 100% sure on the 4.8

I believe 5.3s 6.0s and 6.2s all have it. 4.8s I don't think have it

I guess I should have been more specific, vortec max 6.0s have it im pretty sure. I was also thinking 6.2s had afm but didn't have vvt?

Correct me if I'm wrong, the 6.0 L96 only has VVT, no DOD
Edit: According to LS1Tech the L96 and LY6 are DOD free.

the GMT 900 vortec max uses a L76 6.0 and it DOES have DOD/AFM

Here's why I ask, I'm in the market for another truck, RCSB with a v8, nbs or nnbs, preferably a nnbs, BUT a cam is in the future for whichever truck I get, and I do not want to pull the heads/valley tray. Thats why I ask.

I believe your best bet would be an NBS so you can avoid the DoD feature altogether. Another option would be more work, but you could also find a high-mile NNBS and a 6.0 L96 or LY6 to build the way you want and then swap it in at your convenience. LS1Tech has a wealth of info that can help you make a decision on what would be best for you.
