Alright guys, I just bagged my truck and I'm a little freaked out about the whole thing. I am mostly afraid of if something happening in the front ex. a bag blows out and the truck drags on the ground, rips my fenders off, shreds my tires and so forth.I haven't ever heard any horror stories about lines melting, or bags blowing while going down the road but I'm sure it's happened. So this thread is for you to post any air bag horror stories that have personally happened to you or a close friend and how often does it happen. I was very very careful in routing the lines and the bags don't come in contact with anything so I hope I'm safe. That said start telling your stories :doh:

im just kidding, but there are bad things that have happened to me (bag blowing out while going 80 on the turnpike) but its the same probability as gettin into an ordinary car crash, if you set up your truck right than the only problems that could occur are the freak ones and there is nothing to be done about that

A bag blowout under natural causes (i.e. not a bad install job from some hack) is going to be about a rare as your tire blowing out. They both DO happen on occasion for who knows why, but they are both very rare. It sounds like you were careful doing everything with your lines and bags, as long as you have proper clearance you should be fine. I'd carry around an extra bag "just in case" if I were you though, since you never know what can happen on the road. I have an extra one under my backseat, it is worth the piece of mind to me.

id carry an extra 'bag, some extra line, tools and a jack if you go on long trips. but when im in town, i can just use the cell phone and call someone if i have a problem. or, in case you dont have an extra bag or line, just carry a small peice of 4x4 lumber to stick into the bag mounts if you have a blow out. but i wouldnt recomment driving a long distance like that.

werd, you carry a spare tire, why not a spare bag :imo

had a friend whos bag blew out because lil rocks got stuck under the "hat" of the bag and the rubber.. blew out when he was on the freeway, just ripped off his front valiance. he also took a huge chunk of concrete with him, but thats it...

if ur truck is not body dropped its just like dumping a corner when driving, try it if u want to know whats going to happen :evil:

I don't think I want to try that cause if I did that I would have to be going perfectly straight other wise my tires would hit my fender lips and make some nice creases in my nicely flamed fenders. I went around a corner once and didn't have enough air in the front, hit a bump and the tire hit the fender lip pulling the lip down and putting two very small dimples on the out side of the fender. Now I make sure to drive it with the front up to at least 140 PSI, anybody had this happen to them?

im setting mine up to have clerance when fully laid out just for the fact that if something goes wrong i wont chew up tires/fenders etc


like everyone said carrying extra lines.bags/ and all the tools you need is a good idea
