Hello all. I'm in Iraq currently, and have been thinking about some mods I wanna do with the money I'm making over here. I have a 94 4.3L automatic 4wd sierra. Has anyone done some mods, and would like to share their experience in how tough of a job it was, price, and did u notice any improvments? I'm thinking of a tb spacer, headers, cat back dual exaughst so far. I dont want to spend a fortune either. Also what are some of the companies you've trusted over the years and which give you the most for you money? Thanks a lot for any info guys and gals. Can't wait to be home soon to see my baby!

headers, chip, new injectors, electric fans, cat-backs, and gears are always good choics. Motor swaps are the best

honestly man you would spend so much on the engine mods and barely get anything out of it. i used to have an old TBI V6. im glad i never spent anything on it because its was cheaper to just sell it and get a truck with a V8. the mods for a V6 and a V8 are basically the same, so they cost the same, but you gain A LOT less power with the V6.

btw, thank you for your service over there. i appreciate what you are doing for us :head:

I agree with engine swaps. But I dont need a v8 truck. I'm just looking for better fuel mileage and maybe some better performance. I dont haul heavy loads or tow big trailers or anything. Plus with a v8, your mileage goes down anyway. Thanks for the replies guys...anyone else?

Not really. Your 4.3 is working alot harder than a 5.7 would be to do the same amount of work.

The mods you suggested would definately help you out some. I'd suggest headers, a single 2.5" exhaust, electric fans, and a cam. A shift kit and gears would also help you out. Figure out what you want to spend and go from there. :burnout:

well if you have a vortec then thats a good start. lol i was thinkin you had a TBI. with a vortec intake and exhaust ussually do good. maybe 2.5 inch piping and a highflow muffler like a dynomax or magnaflow.

:word: I have been in that boat too. Just go for a V8 you wont regret it. I had a 95 with a TBI V6. Said TBI on the intake manifold too.

Its a lot of work though isnt it? I mean I know the 350 will bolt right up to the tranny, but as far as electronics go. That can get expensive, unless you scavenge parts from another truck, but then u dont know what you get. Is there a good priced kit out there for converting the computers and all other electronics neccessary?
