This is a picture of the passenger side of my gf's 79 GMC K15. It's got a new 350 with th350 and quadrajet. This is under the air cleaner and on top of the intake manifold. You can see the orange plastic piece around the fitting. As the title states, anybody know what vacuum line is supposed to go here? If it's not important should I plug it? Sorry about the quality, I don't have a camera, only a 1.5mpex cell phone.

So another question, I suppose there should be a line on there. Would you know where I could find said line? And would it explain the horrible gas mileage and not to decent power?

all parts stores sell bulk vacuum hose for cheap...

No, that's the EGR valve. If it was me, I would leave it just like that, doesn't need to be caped. It supposed to have a vac hose going from it to a temp controlled valve that has a vac line to it, so when the motor reached operating temp, it opens the EGR valve.

I guess I was looking for the other end of the line if it's hanging somewhere I haven't found yet. As I don't know what to put both ends of the line on if I buy a new one.
