when it comes to a vehicle, do not buy something you can't physically see or drive:imoI've found a Tahoe I like at Carmax, but its in San Diego, but they'll transfer it....anyone know how that works? What if I don't like it when it gets here? Also is it true you can't negotiate?? Thanks![]()
Well, I'm not going to be financing it through them, so that won't matteri bought my firrst truck from carmax and they sucked! sticker price was 21k and when my truck was stolen i had to get some paperwork from them and i ended up findin out i would have paid 35k after payments...
Thanks, I read that about 5 minutes before I posted this thread, I was asking if anyone had any "personal experience" :crazy:Link: http://www.carmax.com/enUS/popup/vehicle-transfer.html
"Almost all* CarMax used cars are transferable. In fact, we transferred more than 120,000 cars last year alone. It's an easy and convenient way to get the car you want from any CarMax location nationwide.
Once you've found the car you want, transferring it is easy. Just contact a Sales Consultant at the location closest to you, either by calling your local CarMax or submitting a Transfer Request form. Your Sales Consultant will answer any questions you have and help you start the transfer process. Transfer times vary, and a fee may apply, depending on the distance the car needs to travel to get to you. Your Sales Consultant will give you all the details."
Eh, I've bought plenty of vehicles sight unseen, one of them, my HD. But yeah, when I actually picked up the vehicle, I'd drive it before handing over the $$. It just sucks since all the ones around here are gold or LS's :nono:when it comes to a vehicle, do not buy something you can't physically see or drive:imo
I'm trying to be patient, but SHE'S the one that's not  Plus I gotta pick her up everyday now :nono:Be patient, one will show up.
ouch...plus, I'm sure it SUCKS being stuck at work without a car.I'm trying to be patient, but SHE'S the one that's not  Plus I gotta pick her up everyday now :nono:
The same holds true for buying from any dealership. A clean carfax is no guarantee that the vehicle is OK.be very careful with CarMax and Auto-Nation vehicles......they are only legally bound by what carfax states when it comes to their guarantees on non-wrecked or lemon vehicles. I've know a few instances when shopping for a truck where their vehicles have has cosmetic and accident repairs but were certified by carfax....seriously. Had a friend buy a Mazda Millenia from carmax only to find out the car had extensive paint/body work upon my careful inspection.....surprise! no carfax report!
