Anyone hardwire an iPod?

Just curious if anyone has done this. I would like to mount it somewhere that woudn't block any of the vents. I have the folding seat, so the console isn't an option. I was thinking somehow in the ash tray, but not sure.

i just did mine yesterday, but i have the center console. i'll get pics up when i can, but it won't be for a while. my wife has my camera on a trip.
Just give me a description until then.
i plan on selling my truck in the near future, so permanant mods were not an option. here's what i used.
Belkin TuneDok

Belkin Auto Charger w/Audio which has a line out on the charger for a clean install of your patch cable.

i wanted to get an additional 12v outlet and install it behind the dash, but i didn't feel like putting forth the extra effort. so for now i just have it plugged into the factory location.

there is a ton of good info here

hope this helps:D

why not just get a mp3 cd player?

i have one, but i like the idea of a totally discless music library that fits in my pocket and take anywhere i want.

:word: I wanted an mp3 cd player for a long time, then I realized I'd have to burn 11 gigs of mp3's to cd's, and somehow remember which songs are on which cd...now I just want a hard drive mp3 player.
OK, cool. Yeah I checked out the lounge but not many Silverado installs on there.

Is there a way to plug it into the back of the factory deck via rca cables? I was just wondering because on my 03 stock cd changer has an Aux button. Thanks

yeah, you need an aux input interface from a company like peripheral
