Auto Four Wheel Drive on 2022 Silverado 2500

My 2012 1500 had the wiring to the fusebox for fog lights so I just had to replace the dash switch assembly with one that had a fog light button and voila I was able to add fog lights. Now my 2022 Silverado 2500 HD did not come with the AUTO 4WD button. Comes in real hand for winter driving in MT. Not sure why dealer didn't order it that way but I had to buy a pipeline truck. The option was less than a couple hundred dollars. So finally to my question. Would I just need to replace the 2WD/4WD drive switch assembly and maybe have the dealer update the BCM to reflect the added Auto 4WD button or was there more to this option? Not sure if this option also required a different transfer case as well.

Thanks.

Yes, the transfer case is different from the transfer case for 'regular' 4wd. If you want awd, your best, simplest, cheapest option will be to trade the truck in for one with that specific option.

You can buy all the parts, the problem is that GM doesn't allow updating the trucks programming to make it work.
None of the HD trucks come with auto4wd. It's not an option.

GM recently came out w a 2-speed autotrak transfer case for 2500/3500 trucks.
