I want to get (going to get) my truck dyno tuned. I have the GMPP extended warrenty. While I don't think I'll ever blow my tranny, I'd like to have a back up PCM in case I need to go back for warrenty work, seeing that GM can now tell that you tweaked the PCM.

Where can I get a PCM for my specific to my truck's options?

Will the dealer be able to tell the PCM has bee switched?

What if my check engine light turns on AND i don't change the PCM and they scan the code - will they be able to tell the PCM has had a tune?

thanks!

If your check engine light comes on and you DO NOT change the PCM then of course they will notice the modified tune on your truck. Trust me get another PCM... I regret it and Im on my 6th tranny in the truck in less than 2 years because someone didnt do something right...

you can find PCMs on eBay. i'd use the new PCM as the one for the dyno tune and keep your stock one for, well stock.
