well here's how you might be able to tell if you have a bad wheel hub bearing assembly after you take it off. the right has been humming last 3-6 months and getting louder, however unless they know what the sound is most people would not be able to tell. there was no endplay on the truck with the wheel on, could not rock the wheel at all.

yeah a good wheel bearing assembly should have significant drag on it and take decent effort to spin it by hand when not installed. like in the vid with the lugnut studs sitting on the ground, if you can spin the outside part with a finger instead of turning the whole thing on the floor then it's definitely on it's way out if not done.
When it was on the truck with the wheel still on i could not feel any play in the hub- could not rock the wheel at all like you would on a trailer to feel for end play. and spinning the wheel on the truck made no noise, only when driving 30 mph or more would it start humming.
