And what exactly is the benefit to ballvalves?
you use ball valves to adjust your speed. most people use them on their dumps to slow down the release of air. that way if you have 1/2 inch line and valves you can slow your dumps down and just float down rather then slam.

ah... reducers, ballvalves, etc all to slow down the valve.. I need some, i had to ghetto fab a plug to slow down the 1/2

I am using it to go between my tank and shop hose air chuck. I blew my current chuck to pieces since it always had 200psi behind it. I'll just turn the valve to the on position when I need the chuck. I have adjustable SMC dump controls to adjust my dump speed. I'm also going to switch my current 3/8" SMC valves out for some 1/4" Parkers :D

i just picked up some 3/8 ss ones from fastenal. they are pretty built and take a decent amount of pressure on the handle to turn them. hopefully they will work great for slowing down my dumps.
