what do we think of these? i wanna change out my edelbrocks and go longtubes with no cats. im gonna do it next weekend so when i get it tuned i can get it tuned for the gears, tires, and no cats all at once. or what headers will help me the most. this engine will never have fi, spray, or a cam on it. basically its gonna be a 5.3 with a intake, headers and exhaust.

same truck in my sig but by next weekend it will be on 37s with 4.88s

Yeah because he needs a 1.75x3 header, right? :wank: The Bassani will make more power where it's needed and not hurt a damned thing up top.

hey man i just got a set of these for my 5.3, i want to stay smog legal for cali laws so these were the only option other than wasting my money on shortys. i ordered mine directly from bassani for 657$ with ceramic coating, they come with adapters to weld back to your stock exhaust. i had a little issue with quality control on one of the headers, but i was patient and they got it handled for me. Dezert1500 also has a set and he seems to like them also. these are more geared towards mid range torque, another header to consider is the thorley tri-y #310y they are another header great for torque wich will work great for you with the 37's. it you dont have to worry about smog stainless works, arh's and dynatechs are nice but pricey, the lpp's are nice for the price, and pacesetters are ok but seem to lack build quality, either way those style of headers seem to be geared toward more upper rpm horsepower. smaller primary tubes favor more low end and larger primay tubes favor high end power.

btw the part number you would need for your 5.3 is 531500, it comes with the right style connectors for keeping the stock Y pipe if thats the route your going.

Ya it's not a damn drag car. I never understood those big primaries and 3 in collector until your makin big power. I just want a damn nice runnin truck. I figure with a good air filter the air raid tube better headers no cats and a Blackbear tune it will run good and strong and not demolish the 60e, or atleast not much faster than normal with my setup.

not sure on the stans, but the thorleys have longer primarys and are ceramic coated for about the same price as stans chrome ones, and stans only use 1/4 inch flanges unless you special order 3/8 but it costs another 40 bucks, says right on the bottom of the page. 1/4 inch flanges=leaks
:word:

go with the Thorley's

I might be swapping out my pacesetters for a set of these and a custom y! :imo
