So my battery in my NNBS has died twice now since I've owned it (Since July 07), and I'm just thinking of replacing it now.

I want something better over factory, I have a small system in it, only 500w amp. and an On Board Air setup for train horns. The amp will shut off if I have it up too loud, and I remember some people saying to get a better battery to help that too.

So what are your suggestions?

Discuss.

Thanks in advance :shake:

Replaced mine with an Optimum Yellow Top...honestly couldn't be happier. Went through 2 "regular" batteries where if I didn't start the truck every 3-4 days, it would be dead. Now I can go 2 weeks and no hesitation at all. I leave shit plugged in, and alarm armed, etc etc. Fucking great. Works great with my winch, on board air, etc as well

Optima or kinetik :imo Also been told svr and odyssey batteries are hella good...never tried them so not 100% sure just something you might want to look into

Ive had great luck with the Energizer batteries, but thats me.
Honestly, your looking at batteries that are only made from one of about 3 places in the US
If its an Everlast, Energizer, Duralast, Interstate, Optima, whatever they are built by one of 3 factories

amp clipping is not always a cause of low power.....in a NNBS I would be stupified if I saw a 500w amp drop the current below 12.5 volts.

My suggestion would be that something is wired wrong...like have a 12volt constant with a steady drain on your battery....

I would suggest an optima deep cycle battery.....

and as far as your amp clipping, I would almost be willing to bet it is an issue with your ohms

I've checked all my accessories and wiring, I have no parasitic draw anywhere that I can find. Stereo/Deck/Amp are all wired correctly. Aftermarket accessories are wired properly with relays and fuses. I've had problems in the past with the Train Horn/on board air, but nothing that ever caused battery problems.

Maybe it's time to look more thoroughly for a parasitic draw somewhere.

Thanks for all the help guys. :shake:
