I have read through many of the comparisons on this and other forums but I have a few more questions. One point brought up frequently in the past was that Diablew couldn't create a transmission tune, but that is not true anymore right? Second the pricing on both is almost the same so this is more of a preference question. Would you rather have the Diablo Trinity to look at much more detail about what is going on with the truck? Or would you rather meet the tuner in person and have them there for the data logging and to answer any questions, but not have the display like the Trinity?

Cliff version: which would you prefer and why?

If it matters my truck has no engine mods at this time. 2012 6 speed with McGaughy's 7, 35's, and 5.13's.

BBP hasn't figured out how to prevent my dash lights from coming on with 35s and 4.88s FWIW, and it's been 2 years since I bought my AutoCal.

ABS and emergency brake warning lights, quite annoying.

Only happens if I drive above 45mph for a short distance. Around town no issues.

It's a matter of getting the ratio of the gears to tires right, can't go above 33" tires so the ratio has to be fudged to match the 4.88s and 35s using 33" tire size. It can be done since a local speed shop figured it out on a laptop tune using EFI live and HP tuners combination tune for me 4 years ago.

You would think EFI Live would have formulas and established ratios in place for every tire size and gear ratio for those of us that are lifted and geared. Dissapointed for sure.

I thought I heard of hand held tuners having more flexibility for tire and gear sizes.

I have the same issue, not BBP, but still a custom tune. Was told it has to do with the EBCM, only a Tech II can alter. Recommended to go to a dealership to have it fixed/re-flashed, but no one will do it or knows what I'm talking about it. Pretty frustrating.

They're lying. It's all about tricking your ECM to think your tire to gear ratio is normal.

Like I said it can be done, I experienced it first hand. There may be compromises because when the dash lights issue was fixed I could swear the power didn't feel the same or it was just my imagination.

Gotcha. This might be a dumb question, but since the speedo calibrator only deals with that, would it be possible to have a custom tune and then use it to fix that issue? Like I said, I have no lights on right now with 5.13's and 35's.

So you're running 5.13s and 35s and have no dash lights? How did you calibrate your speedo?
