Hey guys.. I've been doing a ton of reading on tires and I was hoping to get some opinions. I'm getting ready to buy some M/T's for the first time and I was wondering if any of you have recommendations on the above 4 tires? I'm looking to get 33's on an 05 Sierra with a leveling kit and 17' XD Hoss rims. I've read that the BFG are terrible in the rain, pro comps have bad side walls but haven't seen to much about the Toyo or Nitto trails.. I'll be doing light 4 wheeling, maybe some driving through the sand and I'll be driving to Tahoe in the winter time for some skiing so ideally I'd want a tire that can do all 3 plus be ok when driving in the rain. Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would recommend the nitto trail grapplers, I have them on my truck and they are awesome in the snow, mud, trails, and do well in the rain. Also they are the quietest m/t tire I have ever had. Toyo and nitto are the same company iirc , and BFG are junk IMO, to each their own but I say go for the nittos. I have never run procomp tires so I can't say anything about them.

i will also vouch for the nitto trail grapplers, i have around 8000 miles with minimal wear and still quite (kinda) they are a m/t but still only have a slight humm to em, so far they did great in the winter and the rain is no problem and with a little wheel speed they do fantastic in the mud, never driven in the sand to say but i love mine.

I too am interested in this... bout to buy 37's

I've had my BFG muds for 4 years + now and the wear has been mind blowing...They STILL look killer to this day but I want to get 37's and still make a pretty penny off my bfg's!

I know the bfg's run a bit smaller than the size says but does the nitto's also run a little small or more true to size?? Also wonderign about the Cooper STT's!! Any help on that guys, greatly appreciated.

Well not trying to hi jack but I am wondering if nitto/cooper runs a bit smaller than stated. For instance bfg 37 is really a 36...No way my bfg 35's are true 35's...So wondering about nitto and cooper on measuring true.

I can't tell what size wheel you have but according to Nitto's website....
37x12.50R17 measures 36.85
And they only have 2 more sizes in 37's, one for a 20" wheel and a 22".

And according to Cooper's wesite they only have 1 size in 37's and it's for a 17" wheel and it measures 36.9.

Yeah I'm running 17's. This may sound gay but I actually want a tire that measure a bit smaller than 37...Like I want to buy a bfg 37 but really it measures 36 something. I think that size tire would be perfect for just my 6.5" suspension lift and I could still clear them pretty well, where as a true Toyo 37" might have some rubbage issues that I don't want to deal with. Make sense?

Makes plenty of sense. I hate when my tires rub also.

Yup. Discount tire actually has the Nitto's for a good bit cheaper than the BFG's so I may start looking at those. Heard nothing but good things. I swore I'd never get Nitto's. I hate every tire they've made except the trailgraps they finally got right from what I can tell but I've heard they're really heavy...sooo got to weigh em out and figure out if it's better than the bfg's or not. Overly heavy tires cause alot of that premature wear because my 35" bfg's are relatively light and my front suspension has had great wear, so obviously wanna keep that going as long as possible.

Nitto Trail Grapplers. I have 40k miles on mine and they are only half tread! Great tires IMO!
