ok i have a 04 gmc 2500HD with a 8" fabtech and 37's. i gotta a set of 20's and im going to put a body lift on the truck, but my question is i got kodiak sidewinders on the truck how is that going to affect my body lift? also its a duramax so whats going to happen with my intercooler, am i going to have to remount that? last question, think i could run a 39.5x13.50x20 with the body lift and clear it good, or should i go with the 36x13.50x20? i have 37" procomp x terrains on the truck now.

I don't think they make a BL kit for the diesels (just cuz of the intercooler issue) but it is possible and i have seen it done a couple of times. im not sure what has to be done but im sure u can find an article online somewhere. i am not sure if you can go from 37s to 40s with just a 3" BL, but it may be possible since it is a HD. as for the sidewinders, im not sure how they will be affected, im not even sure how they work...but i don't think they should be affected too much, but i honestly dont know.

wow, that was alot of help, why did you even post that shit?
and you think that that was any more help?? fuckin waste of space...but i know its possible to BL a D-max but there is no kit made specifically for the D-max trucks...but you can always fabricate for the intercooler...if i knew where sidewinders actually attached to the truck, i could answer that more fully...but i really don't see how they would be affected...im gonna guess they are bolted directly to the frame, but im not sure...if they are, then they most likely won't tuck under the truck fully anymore (and if they don't, they prob won't look very good). Im thinkin that you will probably be able to fit the 39.5s under it, but you may have to trim a little. I wouldn't go with a 36 after the BL tho, there would just be wayyyyy too much room between the wheel wells and tires. if any company makes a 38 or 38.5 for a 20" rim, id go with that. ohh yeah, ain't it great how some critize others when they do the same damn thing, but worse??? Usually when u critize someone of something, you don't wanna be guilty of the same thing, damn hyprocrite...im not gonna spend my time researching something that will probably never serve me any good (the BL w/ a dmax issue)...but you can do that Blue Z if you would like, since you didn't post anything helpful yet...

Play nicely or Im going to have to come and clean out your sandbox :read:

As far as fitting those, tires, they will rub like no other. I would look for another option. You CAN bodylift a d-max but like you said it needs some custom work for the intercooler and its lines. Also I think teh fan shroud is a bit different.

I emailed Nfab and there is no custom routing of the intercooler :read:

I saw yalls truck which was a duramax with a body lift and I would like to know what is involved in installing a bodylift on a duramax.

We have done many, its easy....really no major mods at all. just remove the intercooler tubes then lift it once done just replace the tubes....thats it.

you need to move them around to make them long enough though. Its nothing major like they said, but it does have to be done. Also the fan shroud is slightly different but once again its not a big deal.

11 inches on a 2500. Hell yea you can fit 40's. How much of a lift do you want him to have. My brother has a 2500 Duramax with his torsion bars turned up and he fits 33's. Fact: They sit high :insane:

Hey I will buy those 37's from you. Let me know the specs on them, and post a pic if ya got one.

Stock 4x4 half ton with cranked t-bars fit 33s...so that doesn't prove they sit that much higher...but i dunno about gainin 3 more inches of lift and goin down one inch on tire size...Toyo makes some 38s for 20s, and i think that would look perfect on an HD with 11 inches...

The nittos do come in 38s, but for an 18" rim, and thats currently thier only size...if you don't already have the rims, you may wanna get some nice lookin 18s and go that route. the tire to rim ratio looks a lil better on 18s.

Go with 40s, Yes they will fit, 11 inches on an HD will clear them on the street. Especially if you go with the IROK's they say they are 13.50 wide but mounted come to about 14.50, even then they are narrow enough to fit. I doubt you will be doing to much offroading with twenties, so go for the 40s, 36s will be tiny.

Eisenfault, do u think they will look crammed tho?? I mean a 40 is a pretty big tire...i know they would look better on 20s than a 38, but it might look a lil crammed...i guess it all depends on what he wants tho.

im keeping the 37's around for another project, and as for the 36's go i parked my 2500 next to my friends 1500 2wd with 36" iroks with 20's and the 36's were about 1/2" taller than my 37's. im going to look into those toyo's, probably the 38. as for 18's vs. 20's i got a set of 20's in my garage i jsut picked them up from a friend at american racing.

yeah, i would definately look into the 38" toyos. the 40s prob would fit, but i think 38s would be the right median tho...big enough to fit the truck, but not crammed, and big enough on the rim to look fairly proportional.

as for the 36s being larger than your 37s, i don't doubt it. I think many of the irocs are actually true to size, and sometimes larger. BTW, what 37s are you running now?
