Well my buddy picked up a new truck..i believe its a 92 with a built 350, brand new 6" superlift and 3" body lift, runnin 40s..Hes wanting to do a SFA on it..its built just for the mud..I cant remember what the company is that does prefab SFA kits..ORU? he has a full shop and fab skills, along with front and rear axles already layin at his house..i told him he could prolly do a SFA for what he could sell the superlift for since he has all of the parts already..What would a newish 6" superlift go for? also do you think its worth it to SFA it when its only used for mud?

not bad for $500...kid who sold it to him is an idiot with his vehicles..traded a mint monte carlo for this truck, worth prolly 4k, and then sold this truck for $500..hes the same kid i got my last truck from for $1k lol

well i figured that haha..who even knows if hes going to keep the damn thing for more then a month..i figure me and him can get it built in a few weeks with all the parts he has..he has a 78 dana 60 HP. 14 bolt FF rear, full shop with a lift etc..just not sure on how to do the steering..i know we could make the hangers and shackles easily, but hes the type to wanna buy something to make it easier like the ORU kit..

Used superlift will go for bout $500. they are not the best kit but they are a full drop. On 40's to be reliable you want a D60/14. To save money weld up the rear, front lockers help tremendously but one locked axle is a vast improvement over open/open. Some will say a 44/10 bolt front will work. It will but everything is so much smaller and having a built motor will only add stress to the tiny axle shafts that are designed for 31" tires! Being that truck is IFS the transfer case is a driverside drop Most probably a Np241. You will either have to find a Ford axle, or swap the tcase to run a chevy or dodge axle. For a tcase swap you will need the RARE 90-91 K5/Suburban Np41 that has VSS to make you speedo happy and some parts of the fuel injection cricuit work properly.

For $500 run it until it craps out and keep it for parts. That truck has other issues going on to invest the money for a SFA.

I would pay a couple grand for a truck still sitting stock and go from there.

I wouldnt even think a solid front axle would be better for mud, maybe only for the upgraded strength. I think I would use is as is IMO.

I thought some of the 90 model dodges had driver side diffs on solid axels. Father inlaws dodge was bought new from lot and never moded. he totaled it and I pulled the tires and all off it to sell it has a solid front with driver side diff.

Heres an update..

Put a new grille on it along with tinting the lights..the old ones were so shitty looking...put a bench seat in it because the old seats were gross, cleaned it all up, put a Vic Jr. intake on it and a holley 650, mech. fuel pump and fuel cell, along with Derby headers, 7 blade fan and 4 quart radiator..the thing absolutely rips now..it ran like shit before with a quadrapuke and the tbi fuel pump..i have a video to get on here once my buddy gets it off his camera..

Also picked up a Dana 60 Hp front and a Dana 60 rear..the sas possibility is getting closer..

it musta had cutout flares on it before thats why the wheel wells are fucked up

heres a few pics

Hoodscoops were on it, but imo they work with the headers
