I built some crossmembers to mount my air tank and my compressors in between the frame rails out back...i was going to mount them in the bed but decided its muuuch cleaner with them hidden.

The crossmember with the compressors mounted to it is drilled and tapped just in case i decide to change up the design down the road.

well i learned welding on sheet metal on my oobs and started practicing on thicker steel about a year ago...and when i decided to bag this i figured instead of paying someone to do i, i might as well try and save some money

i figure as long as its penetrating well enough i should be safe and good to go lol
edit: heres a pic of my notches. This is really where i started welding thicker steel and i was pretty happy how it turned out

I think it looks pretty good! If you were closer I'd have you build me a trans crossmember. haha I have to decide if I want to learn or have someone do it for me..

haha thanks...id say buy yourself a welder and practice. that way down the line if you need to fabricate something you wouldnt have to pay someone to do it for your. plus you feel good after you build something yourself

food for thought.
if your 4 ports are pointing down and you plan on using those ports to send air to your valves. it will eventually cause problems. the water traps arent gonna catch all the water. shit it wont even turn to water till its in the tank lol.
and since your valves are being fed off those bttom ports thats where all the water is gonna be. and guess where all the water is gonna go.

not trying to be mean.
just giving you some insight

Do it. I learned to weld on my truck. MIG welding is easy and that will be a great investment for you. I have the millermatic 212. It is expensive but you will be able to weld anything for your truck with ease.

food for thought.

you're so cute with your disclaimer at the bottom. :supergay:

if you flip the tank over you will have no drain at all unless you weld in a bung.
I say weld in a bung or build a less beefy bracket to spin the tank 90 degrees. the new bung could be a small one for the drain so it will be easy. You will want a drain on the bottom and the bag fills on the side or top. Preferably side so you can access them without lifting the bed.

some food for thought. You may want to flip your compressors over so there right side up. or atleast mounted on there side. Having them upside down doesn't let the heat sink work and as the compressor gets hot and the hot air rises it goes right back into the head of the compressor. Ultimately killing them faster.

Just something to think about.
