Well, I decided to try to remove mine so it could be painted .. I've got 12 of the 13 clips off, with just the middle to go and I haven't broken a single one :bowtie:

It does a number on your forearms though, mine are on fire .. that's why I am waiting a little till they settle down to go back out and get the last one off.

I'm going to take some picture of the bumper and the back of the cap when I am done so you can see where the clips all are ..its pretty easy to feel along as you take it off and find each new clip. I went expecting 10 but found 13, but it was no trouble.

There are 6 clips on each side (2 directly on the side and 4 across the front) and 1 in the middle .. Work from each end, first pulling the cap from around the edge (it just slips over) then taking one clip at a time. Like Jeff said before, if you can push down on the cap (or have someone else do it) it makes it easier cause you want to pull the clip straight out, not out and up.

When I finally got to the middle, I found the little pieces in the vent area came out, so once they were out I was able to get a better grip and pull the final clip out.

Don't rush it and dont yank them out. As you oull you can see the area where the clip is connected distort, you dont want to rip the cap or else you'll have to buy a new one ... if I can get all 13 out without breaking any, any of the rest of you guys can too
