I'm about to buy a new front bumper for my truck and I'm thinking of going with a paintable front bumper. I would just do regular base/clearcoat on it but the front bumper seems to take a lot of abuse being a DD and all. What're the options for front bumper paint as far as durability goes? I dont know of any powdercoaters near here and don't think powdercoat will give the shine to match the rest of the paint anyway. Are there any advantages to single stage or an enamel of some sort? I have done some painting before but I dont want to have to touch it up constantly from rock chips and such.

TIA

paint and clear, then have it covered with 3m protective film, or a similar product.

Alright, thanks guys. I was thinking about that 3M film but haven't seen much about it.
