Can someone tell me when they stopped putting the gen. 3 motors in silverados? I have an 05 Silverado and not sure which generation I have.

Gen III is trucks 97-07 classic. Gen IV is in the 07+ trucks. IIRC the only Gen IV engines pre 07 were in some of the small SUVs (Raineer, Trail Blazer, etc.), SSR, Corvette too I think, CTS, and GTO.
