Well I got extremely bored and I tried once again to clear my Denali Headlamps today. It AGAIN was unsuccessful.......

So really, how in the Hell do you do this(and without breaking them)???????

I have tried EVERYTHING!.... i really do think that the Best way to do this is to get a dremel and use a cutting disk on the crack to get the lenses to separeate from the casing.... I'm about to try this since I have tried everything else and I'm not leaving marks of faliure on the side of my lamps for much longer. :flame:

... i'm really fed up with this.

Yeah but hes also being a dick and not telling anyone how and asking $200 to do it for them :read:
I am not being a dick, I just dont want to do it EVER AGAIN. its a BITCH to do it. I hope I never do it again, it was a nightmare and I almost lost them.

The glue you have to get is some QUICK Setting grey glue from GM @ 30$ per tube and you need 2 tubes. So 60$ plus 140$ for my time (2 - 4 hours) = 200$, plus the 48 hour curing time for the glue. That is the only way its WORTH IT TO ME, otherwise have a good time and keep cutting. Also to tell you the truth I dont even want to do it again.

But I have to admit after seeing the end result, I am 50/50 on if it was worth it or not.

And you know something its kinda funny that no one else but my cousin and I have ever done this. You would think someone would figure it out and put it on the web and everybody would have them. But then wouldnt that make having them not all that RARE and not fun to do if EVERYONE had them?

Oh hey if you are in need of a set, I will sell you mine for 600$.

Well..... I tried your razor blade theory.... I guess your lights are different than mine, cuz there is no freaking way that you can get an exacto knife in the crack of these lights in 'most' places. The lenses are countersunk into the casings and the only way that I could see that you would do this is if you were to cut directly through the plastic lens where the line is.

I got thorugh the lens with some time nearest the reflector and then pried the lens apart with a flat head on the whole side, but when I got near the top and bottom of the light, there was the No Go.... i couldnt even fit a razor blade in the crack, let alone scrape off the glue on that line.....

The lenses are so far back in there, I am amazed that you got a blade, or even anything for that matter in there. Congrats on getting the lenses off, but I wouldn't be suprised if your casings are chewed up to sh*t.

I am gunna get this... one way or another, I'm just still looking for a better method than scraping all day long with a razor blade.... I'm probably going to take a dremel to the line with a cutting disk, just like you did with the exacto knife..... the sealer will seal the lenses back on along with the clips.

man just post the step by step instructions and get everyone off your back.
After how dick everyone has been to him. I just wouldn't tell em. You figured it out and it looks sick, props for figuring it out. If they woulda been nicer maybe I would tell em, but fuckit, everyone is talking shit to you now. Let em learn on their own. And $200 is very fair. Hell, Bryan was gonna charge $100 to clear the 03's and I guess these are way harder.

There has been "other" people that cleared them. I've posted some on here a while back. They weren't members on here but they did it. So I'm sure you and your cousin weren't the first or the last.

And what's that white part left over behind the amber? If it's going to look like that I say no to clearing. Looks like crap with the white on there IMO.

Ya know, awhile back I emailed a seller on Ebay about a set of Denali headlights that he had for sale. He told me that they would fit directly and that I would have to do nothing except hook them up and slide them in like the factory ones. He also mentioned that he knows this is true because he's done several trucks and that its not hard...guess he was full of shit.

um yeah did I mention my cousin sold 12 other sets that he did. So it would be safe to say there are 12 other trucks or suv's with them on out there. I personaly know of 1 other, a blue gmc yukon.
If there are 12 other sets, how are you and your cousin the only two in existance like you said in a previous post?

If you wouldn't have such a bad attitude and quit having your stories crash into each other then people here wouldn't give you such a hard time. When you try to talk down to people, they get pissed. Just try to be a little bit "nicer" and you'll notice it'll go a long way, didn't your mom ever tell you that? :shake:

Yeah, your lights look good, but $600 is crazy for some lights, if you asked 350 or so you MIGHT get that, but since you don't like them and seem to want them gone, 250-300 sounds like a better deal for used lights.

Good luck,

steve

I SAID we are the only two who have DONE IT. I never said how many sets there were out there. I helped with my set, and my cousin did around 12 sets himself. He sold 11 of them, and 1 set was on his truck. Now you know, I personaly only know where one of the 11 are. Which is on a kick ass blue yukon with centerline wheels in the orange co. area. :head:

My parents are DEAD, but thanks for the memories. I am quick to the point, and dont like to surgar coat anything. :bawl: Sorry if I ofended you in someway and got your panties in a bunch. :shake:

I am asking 600$ because of all the work I have done to them, plus new denali lights cost around 300$ and retail for alot more. Plus you would be surprised someday some newbie will probly pay me for them. Also since there are only 13 sets out there that makes these kinda valuable doesnt it?

Not that valuable, considering you were able to do it, so could anyone else with some patience, as hurtfull as it may be to yoru ego your not so special that your the only one that can do it, there is a kid that lives down the street from me who did it. No matter how you look at it, your a theif if your asking $600 for a pair of headlights that are worth half of that.
